So long as you’re exercising regularly and eating healthily more often than not, there’s no reason why you can’t have a treat every so often.
The key to success is finding a routine that works for you and then sticking to it. It doesn’t matter if your exercise regime is intense or not, so long as you’re doing it regularly. And if you find that you can’t stick to a healthy diet 100% of the time, don’t worry – so long as you’re making healthy choices more often than not, you’re on the right track.
As an example, let’s say that you work out three times a week (this includes swimming or Aquatic Performance Training, tennis, and a weights session). From here, you walk a couple of times per week and take the other two days off. This is much better than working out every day for two weeks and then realizing that it isn’t sustainable and giving up. Likewise, it’s better to allow yourself a chocolate bar every few days than try to give up everything and struggle to enjoy life.
Consistency is key, and one of the best ways to achieve consistency is to change your lifestyle rather than implementing an inevitably short strict exercise regime and diet.

Creating an Exercise Plan for the First Time
